Company status updates
Post rich-text status updates on a portfolio company, schedule them for a future date, and collect threaded comments from your team.
Status updates let you post rich-text notes on a portfolio company so your team, and optionally the company itself, can read and comment on them. Use them to record meeting takeaways, capture month-end commentary, or share progress on a company-specific initiative.
Overview
Each update is attached to one company. You can:
- Format the body with the rich-text editor (headings, lists, links).
- Pick a post date that controls how the update is dated and ordered.
- Choose whether the update is visible only inside your workspace or also to organizations the company is shared with.
- Reply in a threaded comment thread.
Status updates appear in two places:
- The company's
Overview > Status Updatestab, scoped to that single company. - The workspace
Status Updatesfeed at/org/status-updates, which shows updates across every company you can access.
Find status updates
Company > Overview > Status Updates. The page lists every update on that company that you have permission to see, newest first, paginated 20 at a time.Status Updates in the main workspace navigation.Post a status update
- Open
Company > Overview > Status Updates. - Click New Update. A side panel opens with the editor.
- Set Visibility.
Internalkeeps the update inside your organization.Sharedmakes it visible to organizations you have shared the company with. - Set the post date with the date picker. The post date is what shows on the card and what the month filter uses, so set it to the date the update represents (for example, the date of the meeting you are summarizing).
- Write the update in the rich-text editor. You can use headings, bold, italic, bulleted and numbered lists, links, and horizontal rules.
- Click Post.
The update appears at the top of the feed. Cards show the author name, the author's organization, the post date, and the visibility badge. Body content is capped at 50,000 characters once serialized.
Schedule a post date
The post date is independent of the creation timestamp. You can set it to a past date to back-date a meeting note, or to a future date if you are drafting an update tied to an upcoming event. The card shows the post date you chose, not the time you clicked Post.
The feed is ordered by creation date (newest first), but the All months filter uses the post date. Pick a month to narrow the feed to updates with a post date in that month.
Edit or delete an update
- Click the menu on the right side of the update card.
- Choose Edit to change the content, visibility, or post date, then click Save.
- Choose Delete to remove the update. Deletion is permanent and removes the update from every feed it appears in.
You can edit or delete an update only if you authored it, or if you are an Owner or Admin in the same organization that authored it.

Visibility controls who outside your organization can read the update.
- Internal: only members of the authoring organization with access to the company can see the update.
- Shared: members of any organization that has shared access to this company can see the update. Use this when you want the company itself, or a partner organization, to read what you posted.
To change visibility on an existing update, edit it. Switching from Shared to Internal hides the update from other organizations immediately. Switching from Internal to Shared makes it visible to them on the next page load.
